Read Martin Geddes Latest Post-Your Job My Be At Stake If You Don’t

If you haven't read pal Martin Geddes latest post on the Future of Communications entitled Peak Telecom, you are missing something that is likely either something you have likely said, thought, heard someone say in private or really wished you had. It's a stunningly brilliant piece of writing that leads you to wonder, "what is Martin going to say next" as you read through it. This post is every bit as important as Alec Saunders 2005 post entitled The Voice 2.0 Manifesto in my opinion as far as laying things out or the famed Pulver Purple Minutes post. It is... But as someone who wants to see the event grow here are some suggestions: 1) Get more launches at the event. Comapnies there missed the opportunity to launch new products, companies and services. It's a great vehicle and StartUp Camp again proved that. 2) Get more media. The show is full of companies who have things to say. Unfortunately other than the same usual suspects there's a severe... Verizon’s Clouded Thinking: Social Media is Not Customer or Media Relations

Image via Wikipedia Verizon's Wireless needs a dose of reality. Using Twitter to tell the public that they are aware of the LTE outage this past week, is neither media relations nor public relations. It's hiding in plain sight. It's like a public company putting out news on a Friday afternoon, after the market closes. It's really about hoping the world doesn't learn of your problem. As a Verizon Wireless customer, and as a member of the media and the media, pr and corporate communications world longer than most who 'tweet, 'book and blog, going to their media web site...
