Voice Over IP reviews: survey of providers – Part 1
Overview:
This report is after only 2 weeks research. It talks about the Voice Over Ip. In fact I was interested in getting some VOIP provider that can offer me totally free calls. So, I decided to make special research in this area, as it is an important area. Again, I can say that this is an introductory work, and future research can be done
Out of my work I got to the following conclusions.
• Top 100 Voip providers are
Globe7, Yahoo Voice, Voip.com, Voip.net, MutualPhone , Speak2Phone, poivY, Voipcheap.com, VoipDiscount, VoIPJet, VoIPGate, CallontheNet, Xeloq, Internetcalls, MyWebCalls, SparVoip, Quazzle, ViaTalk, Teliax, Best2Call, Voxee, Gafachi, VoIPCheap, Babble, Yak World City, Axvoice, Galaxy, Easy4Dial, VoIP Buster, VoipExCO, WebPhone, RingoClub, Talquer, VoIP Stunt, SunRocket, Skypho, Vbuzzer, Talafone, SIP Discount, Skype, Telcan, Lingo, freespeech, LunaPhone, Globalinx, Packet8, Rubicon, Axxeso, Nettelephone, StanaPhone, NetAppel, Click4NetPhone, Broadvoice, Voipfone, ITP, Easy4Dial, GloPhone, Voiceral, Vozonline, Brujula, SipTalk, Globaltel, VoiceEclipse, RocketVoiP, SpectraVoice, Digilinea, DialPad, Onyx-concept, ZingoTel, TerraCall, SipPhone, AT&T, Astratel, AdvanceCall, MeritCall, WordPhones, Dual Talk, Vonage, BlueFace, RhinoBell, Everywhere, Wengo, SnapTel, SunriseVoice, Sip2Go, Zero27.net, Broadtalk, DingoTel, PeopleCall, TerraSip, Totalcall, Dus.net, Phoneopia, Wazatel, FaktorTel, Call2SIP, sipkom, On4, iConnecthere.
You can go through these VOIP providers sites to have a look on the VOIP services they provide. I went through some of them only, to get idea about how they provide their services.
• It was hard to get VOIP provider that give free VOIP service. Maximum what I concluded until this moment,
1- Globe7 offer free 1$ (they say 100 min) upon registration, and it can be recharged if you tell some friend about Globe7. Some providers offer free 5 min or more upon registration.
2- There are some VOIP providers that offer free calls to some European countries and US and Canada. These include:
Voipbuster.com, Voipcheap.co.uk, Netapple.fr, Voipstunt.com, Sparvoip.de, Sipdiscount.com, poivY.
When I tested one of these sites in the work (in MTIT), It worked fine first
day, but after that I felt that the proxy or firewall configuration may be
changed , so the program was not able to make connection to the gateway
server . From my home (no firewall) I can make call to wherever I like.
Same apply to other softphone software. So, the stuff in the center that are
responsible for the firewall shall try to solve the problem.
3- There are some VOIP providers give the possibility to make free calls to US and Canada only or to UK only or to some countries only.
.
4- I noted that the site PhoneHog give you calling card that can be recharged when you visit some sites, but their access number is in us only.
• I attached some explanation about the what is VOIP obtained from some site in the net.
• I attached something about what is written in inPhonex and SIPphone, about their VOIP services, as an example to see how things done.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, I hardly suggest that the VOIP services are implemented in our Computer Center, at least initially by subscribing to one of the existing plans of an VOIP provider, as it will save us a lot of money for international calls.
Venture Into the World of Internet Telephony With VOIP Phones
High-tech communication technologies have not only shrunk the world but have also made communication significantly economical. The wave of Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP ) technology is sweeping the world. VOIP has indeed revolutionised telephonic communication.
VOIP phones are slowly replacing the traditional analog telephones. A VOIP phone is an entity used to make telephone calls over the Internet. A VOIP phone offers all the functionalities of a regular phone with the added benefit of a high-quality voice reception.
You need to subscribe to any of the service providers offering the VOIP service in order to avail the benefits of VOIP through your telephones. Skype is a very popular VOIP service provider used by many people across the world.
Different types of VOIP phones, such as VOIP cordless phones, VOIP Wi-Fi phones, etc are gaining foothold in the market.
Cordless VOIP phones offer you the freedom to chat with your near and dear ones without the need to remain tied to your computer. You need to install Skype program on your PC. The USB base station connects to your PC that is pre-loaded with the Skype software. With Skype running on your PC, you can use the cordless handset to read and display your contact list of friends and relatives. You need to just choose the person you wish to talk to from the menu and press the ‘calling’ button!
Installation of Skype enables the VOIP cordless phone to support SkypeIn (for incoming call), SkypeOut (for outgoing calls), call waiting and Skype’s optional Voicemail service. You can also use the phone as an intercom.
VOIP Wi-Fi phones enable you to make unlimited phone calls wirelessly over Wi-Fi networks anywhere in the world through your secured or open access to a Wi-Fi network. There is no need to connect to your computer. The Wi-Fi VOIP phones feature the Skype interface. So, you can use the phone with any wireless network.
So, choose the right VOIP phone as per your requirements and enjoy the pleasure of (economical) chatting with your near and dear ones across the globe.
VoIP International Prepaid Phone Calling Cards: Features and Risks
The birth of the Internet was the start of an innovation era, for mankind. The Internet has expanded its roots into almost every industry around the globe. Companies such as Vehix are using the Internet to change the automotive industry. Amazon has changed the retail industry, and companies such as Skype, Vonage, and Pingo have revolutionize the use of the Internet for voice communication using VoIP International prepaid phone calling cards for very low costs.
VoIP is an Internet based technology that has revolutionized the phone industry. VoIP allows service providers to direct voice packets over the Internet. In other words, VoIP lets users to make their phone calls over the Internet. While transmitting voice over networks is not something especially new, the way that VoIP manages it definitely is. One of the issues that Internet callers had to deal with before VoIP International prepaid phone cards were improved was loss of quality and long delays. Internet callers had to wait for a minute or two to allow the voice packets from the other side to be fully received by their terminal before speaking back. That made Internet calling quite inconvenient. The quality of calls wasnt that great either, and you needed to use your computer to make and receive the calls. Moreover, it was a little pricy to make an Internet call, and that made it unattractive to callers. The deployment of VoIP International prepaid phone calling cards through new technologies that companies such as Pingo have developed changed all that. Now customers are able to make quality calls using their regular land or mobile phones, depending on Pingo to provide the backend integration of VoIP to provide low priced quality connections. VoIPe technology is also available on computers, using software such as Skype. However, given the low costs of using a prepaid calling service like Pingo, most people find that the small cost that is charged for origination and termination of the calls on regular phone systems are worth the price for the convenience. These rates are usually even better than the large broadband VoIP carriers charge, without even requiring installation of expensive equipment to their broadband modems.
Clearly, VoIP technology has proven itself as an inexpensive way to make quality long distance calls. There are choices that can be made between online software such as Skype, installed VoIP systems such as Vonage, or VoIP International calling card services that use regular phones such as Pingo. For my money id pick Pingo prepaid calling services that can be used from any phone home mobile or while traveling would be the way to go!
VoIP Small Business/Home Business Advantage
Small businesses, home-based businesses, and self-employed individuals have been turning to internet telephone service (also called broadband phone or VOIP) in droves. What is the attraction? As a self-employed, telecommuting, small-business-owning freelance writer, I can provide some insight.
I switched my business to internet phones early in 2005. Despite a few hiccups, I’m not going back to landlines. Internet phone service has too many advantages, which I’ll describe for you. I also have some tips for avoiding possible rough patches.
VOIP Internet Phone Small Business and SOHO Advantages
VOIP Advantage No. 1: Look bigger.
* If your small business has to seem large, a virtual PBX with a dial-by-name directory might help. These systems cost thousands to install. But many VOIP companies let you rent this service for less than a hundred dollars a month.
* Give each member of your team their own outside line. With most VOIP companies, each line costs around $10.
* Get one or more 1-800 numbers at around $10/month.
VOIP Advantage No 2. Freedom of movement.
* Freedom to travel. When I went to Sacramento to visit a friend, I ended up extending my stay to a whole month. I couldn’t have done that without regular phone access. With VOIP, my Massachusetts number follows me wherever I go.
* Tropical adventures. I regularly work with a virtual assistant company that takes phone calls on their Quebec phone number everyday. That wouldn’t be so strange except they’re in the Philippines. They’re using the same small business VOIP phone service sold right here in North America. True, VOIP companies don’t generally guarantee their services will work outside the country of purchase. But the internet is the internet, whether in Fargo or the South Pacific. With the growth of broadband to virtually every non-pariah nation on earth, your second office really could be in a tropical paradise–or year-round ski resort. Isn’t that the freedom you hoped being your own boss would bring?
* Telecommuting. Feel a cold coming? Work from home! With VOIP, even the receptionist may be able to telecommute!
* Voicemail by email. You don’t have to be by the phone to get voicemail. This is the perfect service for busy people and email addicts. Bonus: the message (in a file similar those used on MP3 players) can be stored indefinitely.
Internet Phone Advantage 3. Cost
* Make lots of calls? Many VOIP providers’ unlimited-calling plans cost just $20 to $80 a month.
* Features such as call waiting, caller ID, hold, call forwarding, and multiple ring-to numbers are usually costly extras with landline service. With most VOIP services, those are built-in features.
SOHO VOIP: Tips for Making it Work for Your Business
SOHO VOIP Tip 1. Test internet phoning out before committing.
Yes, some VOIP connections are so scratchy and patchy they sound like cell phones. That’s usually because of a problem in the internet connection. Such problems may not be apparent in ordinary web browsing and file downloading. Go with a service that has a 30-day money-back guarantee. Try VOIP out where you live and work. Make sure to try inbound and outbound calls.
Small Business Internet Phone Tip 2. Phoning from a laptop.
With VOIP telephones, you don’t need a computer. But you can use your computer as a phone. A piece of software called a “softphone” uses your computer’s speakers and microphone. If your laptop is running too many programs at once, calls will deteriorate. Higher-end laptops shouldn’t have this problem.
SOHO Internet Phones Tip 3. Go with an established VOIP company.
You don’t want to lose your telephone service and possibly your number. Yet only a few VOIP companies have roots before 2000. Choose a service with deep enough roots to survive a VOIP industry shake-out.
Small Biz Internet Phoning Tip 4. Choose a provider carefully before putting the number on your business cards.
Switching VOIP companies is at least as much of a pain as switching landline phone companies. In fact, there is typically no outward number-portability. You can bring a number in, but good luck taking it with you. Researching in early 2005, I found no nationwide VOIP services officially offering outward number portability.
Choose a VOIP provider with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Test the service out thoroughly. One thing is likely: you may want to switch VOIP providers, but you won’t want to go back to landline.
How to improve your singing voice for karaoke – Part 1
On stage, lights are practically blinding you as you stand confident and almost poetically with your microphone. Music of your favorite song suddenly bursts out from the speakers above, below, side-to-side… everywhere. The lyrics come up and the crowd goes wild. Your voice pumps through the speakers, so beautiful and melodic. This is your moment.
Want to make this dream a reality? Want to become idolized for your ability to make a song your own?
Follow my quick, easy steps, and you’ll not only succeed in the fun and exciting life of karaoke!
What NOT to do, if you want to improve your voice:
1. Do NOT drink cold, OR hot water. These both strain your vocal chords. Try drinking room temperature water.
2. Do NOT scream (unless you’re practicing for a rock song that requires a scream)
3. Try NOT to eat chocolate or drink sodas before a performance. Chances are, you’ll get a weird gargling in the back of your throat, and when you try to sing you’ll choke.
What TO DO, if you want to improve your voice:
1. Do simple scale exercises (do, re, mi, fa, so, la, to, do) on a piano of keyboard. (if no piano or keyboard is available, google.com or other search engines will probably give you links for websites that have pre-made scales.
2. (to not sing nasally) Yawn. Feel how it feels in the back of your throat? Now do the action of yawning once more, just don’t yawn. Instead of yawning, belt out a note. Try this with the scales you tried in the last step.
3. Don’t be nervous before a performance! It will make your heart beat faster, and when you try to sing it will sound like you’ve been running for an hour.
What TO DO on stage to get the crowd into your performance:
1. Walk around the stage like you own it.
2. If there’s an instrumental in the song, (long enough for you to talk), get the crowd rowdy with words like “LET’S GO!”, or sounds like “WOO!”
3. Wear something classy, but fun. Same with your hair and makeup. Make us take you seriously.
and
4. At the end of the song, when all the lights fade out and the crowd is screaming your name, take your bow! A thank you would be appreciated also. It usually makes the audience louder.
Take these suggestions as personal as possible, because I believe in you and your voice.
Have fun, and be safe!
Alternatives to phone cards and traditional long – Part 2
Consumers no longer rely on one phone to meet their needs. We’re a mobile society with mobile phones and mobile computers. Traditional land line phones often go unused for days as the family chats independently of each other on cell phones.
Saving for long distance calls is important to many consumers and business people who have contacts in other countries. For them, long distance service and cost is very important.
If you prefer traditional phones, Vonage is a great choice for consumers that call all over the U.S. They offer three packages that meet almost everyone’s budget and long distance calling is included. International rates are separate but the rates are low.
If you have an iphone, placing long distance calls over the Internet is a great money saver. The quality of service in companies such as VoIP depends on the speed and quality of your Internet connection. Many are choosing this alternative to traditional long distance for the savings.
Pinless phone cards are good, but the calls are often rounded up to the next minute, and there are sometimes hidden fees and charges.
Wouldn’t it make sense to have a phone service that placed all your long distance calls on one bill and was cost effective at the same time?
Dial Around Plan
A new method of phone plan is available in the dial around plan. This alternative uses a local number or a toll free number and bypasses, or dials around, the conventional phone company. Savings are said to be from 50% to 90% less than conventional long distance.
No account number or PIN is required if you dial from a registered number and you can register up to ten numbers. The rates are low and there’s no monthly minimum or account fee. Connection quality is about the same as conventional calls.
With some plans you only pay for the minutes you use with no fees, taxes or hidden charges.
How does it work?
You call a special access number and when you get the dial tone, you dial the area code and phone number. Dial around plans are versatile and allow you to call from home, with a cell phone or while traveling around the U.S. This is a distinct advantage to many consumers.
The better plans give free online account management with real time call history, so you can see the details and cost of your calls.
If you make a lot of long distance calls, and want to save money, this could be the plan for you.
Index of Riches Ad Section Targeting for Adsense Publishers
Ad Section Targeting for Adsense PublisherssThe World Wide Web is an increasingly crowded, noisy market, filled with people promising everything from weight loss to a plot of land, to businesses advertising everything from glasswares to glass globes. It is also becoming increasingly difficult to make your voice heard in the multitude of sounds that make up the Internet. How can you speak out, be heard, and still make a elfin cash on the side? There are many ways to promote your site and earn money through the Internet. You can ask friends to link to your site, hoping that you can increase your popularity in the search engines and get more people to notice your site. You can sell your crafts and products, hoping that people will happen by and gift you something to chuckle all the way to the bank for. These methods, however, are long shots compared with a direct, straight – to – the – cash – register way of AdSense. Google’s answer to pay – per – page – portion letter advertising, AdSense enables individual website owners to earn money every time their visitor clicks on ads insightful on their site. How does Google AdSense work? By registering with the program, Google picks up relevant keywords from your site, then uses these keywords to select ads that are relevant to your site content. These ads will embody placed in a particular nook in your site, where they will be most noticed by your web visitors. If your visitors click on the ads, you will get commissions. When you get into the AdSense program, you become an AdSense publisher. To do so, all you need is to apply once online. When Google approves your application, it gives you a chance to set advancing your account, then gives you a block of HTML script to add to your website. This script will allow the targeted advertisements to appear on your website, and will instantly accord users the chance to deliver you revenue.Google AdSense has thousands of poster contacts, so that you have no shortage of possible ads that can make it to your site. Moreover, since Google maintains a working relationship with the ad owners, ad publishers do not have to problem about taking trouble of or nurturing the publisher – advertiser correlation. Google AdSense, moreover, is smart: it can recognize word meanings from context clues, and can and so add ads to your site without you having to specify that you mean a cup of Java coffee, and not Java the programming language. The most attractive feature of Google AdSense is that you do not have to pay to participate. You can even choose which ads you want your site to have, simply by employing a departure of filters that can classify ads and keep out those that do not match your site language and elegance. You can even change ad colors and fonts to make sure that they fit with your website’s topic. What most people don’t know about Google AdSense is that original is a smart program that gives the AdSense publisher all the efficacy to choose and tailor ads to suit their tastes. One such angle is called Ad Section Targeting. What is AdSense Ad Section Targeting? In a nutshell, Ad Section Targeting allows you to emphasize what keywords Google AdSense will pick up from your site. This emphasis makes sure that Google leaves out unnecessary, but often repeated keywords that you might not demand to have ads for.For instance, if you are running a site for planting flowers, your keywords might include ” fertilizers, ” ” soil, ” and ” seeds. ” The Google ads that will temperament up will therefore be from companies selling fertilizers, soils, and seeds. However, if you would consonant to concentrate only on companies selling fertilizers and seeds, you can also ” ask ” Google AdSense to emphasize such companies when choosing ads for you. You can also ” ask ” Google AdSense to exclude, or downplay considered ads.How does Ad Section Targeting work? As with most other Google AdSense tools, Ad Section Targeting is accomplished by adding a block of HTML code to sections of your website that you would like Google AdSense to emphasize or skip. This HTML code can contain the ” Ignore ” trade, which keeps Google AdSense from using keywords in the specific section of the website when choosing ads for you. The HTML code may also contain an ” Emphasis ” function, which Google AdSense can use when choosing ads.The changes, however, will not be immediate. For instance, if you are using Google AdSense for all of your site’s keywords, and you suddenly wish to come to Ad Section Targeting, the changes may not put on made at once, as Google’s crawlers return life to revisit and reevaluate websites. The sections of your site that need to be emphasized, moreover, also need to have as much content as possible. This makes it easier for Google AdSense to add the ads to your website because it will own many keywords to choose from.By Google AdSense’s rules, it should also be remembered that Ad Section Targeting should be used only to emphasize parts of your website that are relevant to its content. Ad Section Targeting should not be abused to gather sites that are irrelevant to your site. Such a habit is common practice among webmasters who want to make easy cash fast. The practice, however, can be annoying to your site’s visitors, and can even make you lose them. When used wisely, however, Google AdSense and Ad Section Targeting can earn you the money you need, and make your website shine. Sign up for AdSense, learn the tricks of the field, and obey the rules, and you’ll hear your virtual cash observation ringing in no time.sDid you find this article useful? Assessing the quality of a VOIP service – Part 1
VoIP has finally come of age – after the promises made in 1998-2001, now it is actually deployed in mass and has come to a home near you.
I have been employed in the VoIP field since 1999, and am thrilled to see this technology mature and move into the forefront. As a "veteran" of this field, I know what many of the issues were, and what had to be done to overcome them.
My phone bill has also shrunk from $170/month, to $29.99/month!
There are many service choices out there, from Vonage, to Packet 8 to newer solutions.
Service quality does vary from location to location.
Here are some of the issues that can happen with VoIP, and what to look for to make sure that you are getting the best quality:
1) VoIP works by turning voice data into "packets" just like informational data – and sending it by the fastest method to its destination. A good VoIP service will reassemble the packets quickly and make sure that they are buffered fully before transmitting them. This means you should not hear interruptions or pieces of missing sound in your final call. If you get a jaggedy call, this is not happening correctly. If it is happening too slowly, you will get an excessive delay on one side of the conversation.
2) Normal calls have some background noise or hum. We found that in VoIP, the absence of this caused people to think the other party had hung up! To compensate, we included what we called "comfort noise" or CNG. We also had VAD or voice activity detection which triggered when we turned the CNG on and off. If you hear dead silence, your carrier or equipment does not have this feature.
3) Echo was one of the earliest issues encountered by VoIP. As a result, many companies devised elaborate echo cancellation techniques and patented them. If you hear an echo, you are using a service that has purchased equipment with some first generation issues!
Even if you do have some remmnants of issues, the cost differences may be worth keeping your service. However, with a wide choice of service providers available, you should be able to find one who has battled the above issues and won.
