This feature stopped working for about a couple months ago, it stopped being presented as an option and they don’t respond to queries.

eventually, we won’t even need the numbers

we can just communicate completely through digital devices

  4. kxradio says:

The main question is whether Google will be around forever to let you keep your phone number.

“it is becoming increasingly uncommon to call landline answering machines”. Where on earth did you pull that statistic from?

This is useful for any person who has to contact a business desk phone, which most businesses have, in large numbers, each with it’s own answering service.

Many a people would love to recall and replace a message to landline phones, especially when it involves business.

with most people i know, you can listen to a menu of options, one of which allows you to erase and re-record

that’s for Verizon. I don’t know about any other providers, but I would guess they have similar features

  8. kxradio says:

On most voicemail systems, you have an option to erase and re-record a message. As for calling a landline, I agree… but for most people, it is becoming increasingly uncommon to call landline answering machines.

  9. aahmed215 says:

    1) How can you re-record your voicemail?

    2) This is the same thing as calling a land line, so if you don’t want to say something you will regret afterwards…DON’T SAY IT!

  10. mikeonthecomputer says:

This feature works just like any land-line answering machine works anyhow; you should always be careful of what you’re saying, if you’re afraid of saying anything compromising.

  11. kxradio says:

I dislike this feature. You’ll need to make it clear to callers that they can be screened. People are getting used to having the freedom to delete and re-record their messages in case they mess up. It has saved me a couple of times and I don’t expect my callers not to be intruded upon. If this becomes the trend, I will become very conservative about how I leave voicemail.

This would be funny if someone leaves a voicemail and they mess up saying something REALLY bad and decide to re-record the voicemail to hide their slip(s) or what not. I can only imagine the trouble this may cause…
