Add magicJack Telephone Adapter to your PC and you can make telephone calls within the USA and Canada for FREE!     You’ll have no trouble ordering, but their “customer service” is HORRIBLE. They deliberately drag things out, claim one thing and then the opposite, pass you to different representatives who then contradict what the other one told you, and they sometimes suddenly have trouble with English or typing, yet have no trouble at other times. They are very polite, yet totally ineffectual and unethical.

    After reading Amazon reviews, I decided to cancel my order less than 1 hour after placing it. The first day, I wasted 3+ hours during 3 different “live chat sessions” with MagicJack’s customer service representatives, getting nowhere. They could process the order enough to gain pre-authorization from my credit card company (I checked), but couldn’t access the records to cancel my order and after wasting as much time as they could, would finally tell me to try again later. The next day, I tried again and STILL don’t know whether or not they cancelled my order. Here is the exact transcript of that half-hour interaction:

    Me: Is my order in your computer system yet?

    Them: I see

    Them: Let me check that for you now

    Them: Can I have please your full name and email address?

    Them: Please hold as I check that for you now

    Them: One moment please…

    Me: It’s been a few minutes.

    Them: I see

    Them: Thank you for holding

    Them: Please confirm

    Them: Shipping Address

    Them: *They typed my name and address with an order #

    Them: Order Time: 11:49:10

    Them: Order Date: 12/10/2008

    Me: correct, please cancel the order ***

    Them: I see

    Them: I will do that now Susan

    Them: One moment please…

    Them: Thank you for holding

    Them: Done doing that for you (*** Note: order cancelled claim #1, see his next comment ***)

    Them: Please wait for the email confirming the cancellation of your order ***

    Them: *They typed my email address.

    Them: Is that the best email to reach you with?

    Me: yes, I have it open now. I’ll see if it came through

    Them: I see

    Them: Please wait for the email 12-24 hours from now

    Them: Trust me now

    Them: your order is not cancel (*** Note: not cancelled? ***)

    Them: Is there anything else I may help you with today?

    Me: But was it definitely cancelled before it was shipped? And my credit card will not be charged anything?

    Me: You typed “your order is not cancel” Has my order been cancelled?

    Them: I was completely cancelled by me. No worries now. it was not shipped yet and your card will not be billed in the future (*** Note: order cancelled claim # 2 ***)

    Me: Thank you very much. I’m relying on your word as a company representative.

    Them: your order is not cancel (*** Note: not cancelled?, see next comment ***)

    Them: My apology on that ***

    Them: your order is officially cancel (*** Note: order cancelled claim #3 ***)

    Them: I miss out there

    *Note: yes, he actually typed “I miss out there”

    Them: Is there anything else I may help you with today?

    Me: I’m contacting UPN news problem solvers if you charge my card and do not cancel my order. I will take this as far as I must, even if that means small claims court

    Them: *they typed my full name in all capital letters and bold, nothing else.

    Me: And, I’m sending my credit card company a transcript of this conversation to make sure that they don’t pay your company one penny.

    Them: 12/11/2008 [C]anceled Order Updated from EARL (*Note: Earl was the representative’s name)

    Them: Yes, you can do that Susan

    Them: I understand you on that

    Them: But please trust me on that now. I am honest on the assistance that I am giving you now

    Me: And, I’m posting this conversation on Amazon.com

    Them: Is there anything else I may help you with today?

    Them: Is that the way you treat people who is patiently assisting you?

    Me: As long as my order has been cancelled, that is all I wanted.

    Them: *they typed my full name in all capital letters and bold, nothing else.

    me encanta. lo uso para comunicarme con mis familiares desde colombia y funciona perfectamente. la calidad de la comunicacion es excelente y ahorra muchisimo dinero. lo recomiendo

    The voice quality is fantastic !!

    Just plug it in and it works. PC or Mac compatible.

    Just plug in any regular phone and call.

    Highly recommended !!!!

    Then buy one of these and you will…And it still didn’t work. I took it back to Best buy…TWICE..
