The Cordless DUALphone is a cordless telephone that can be connected to both a standard telephone jack and the USB port of a PC. The display shows whether your friends who also use Skype are online. If they are, you simply have to press the appropriate green button and talk to them for free no matter where they are in the world. If their PC is switched off, or you want to call someone who doesn’t use Skype, you simply press the other green button and call via the standard telephone connection. Simply connect the DUALphone to the USB port on your PC and then install the software. The telephone is then ready to make and receive calls via SkypeIn/SkypeOut or the normal analog line.

You can dial and receive normal telephone calls or calls over the Internet or via SkypeOut or SkypeIn. There’s also no need to sit in front of your PC anymore to make free calls over the Internet. With the DUALphone, you can roam within a radius of up to 900′ from the base station.

The handset includes a 160-entry telephone book, a 30-station call log and display-and-redial for your last 30 calls. A headset jack is built in, for comfortable hands-free use. There’s a talk time of up to 6.5 hours, and standby of up to 100 hours. While it operates as a standard land-line with no more than a power adapter and telephone line, the minimum PC system requirements for Skype features are: Windows XP, 2000 or 2003 server, 400 MHz processor, 128 MB RAM, 15 MB free hard disk space, a CD-ROM drive, any internet connection and a PSTN connection.

Handset, base station, AC adapter, NiMH battery, user’s guide, CD-ROM, warranty card

  1. Great phone but I can’t find a replacement battery pack. Anyone else have the same problem and can help?

  2. I initially bought the Philips VOIP 321 (VOIP3211G/37). After fighting the Philips drivers/software for several hours I returned it and bought the DualPhone RTX3055 instead. Within five minutes the DualPhone was up and working exactly as expected. I didn’t encounter any of the difficulties I had encountered with the Philips.

Once Philips solves their driver/software issues their phone will probably be a great product. Until that time I strongly recommend this phone over the Philips. It doesn’t look as snazzy as the Philips, but works far better. The sound quality is even clearer than the Philips.

I have used this for over 12 months using my office computer, I have 2 CIT200′s at home, this phone was used very little mainly to call my Mother in England from the Office.

I am now working from home using my office computer, and I use the phone every day to call clients all over the USA, I lik the way you can just dial the long distance number, no prefix and then just press the green pc button and I have not had any problems

The only note I say is that the newer cordless skype phones use the AAA batterys, I don’t know if this battery goes that I can replace it.

Purchased this product when it first came out. The LCD panel began to fail shortly after purchase. Yet I like the phone so much I purchased several more after reports that the DUALPhone LCD panel had been replaced. Unfortunately, this is still a key failure point. I will replace this phone and toss it in the garbage.

I’ve used it for more than a year now with Skype. I have 2 handsets.

It was the first reasonably-priced phone of its type that I could afford. So I got it because there was nothing better…

The phone software improved a few times, but the phone continues to have problems. Sometimes turns off every few minutes during the call. The volume always has to be turned up. The battery life is very short, especially with a handset.

I use it as my primary home phone. So, it’s never been as reliable for that as it should be. Don’t invest in this half-baked product, if you can afford something better.

When I have the money, I will buy the Philips voip841. I just bought one for my Mom. It doesn’t need to be connected to the PC to work, and works much better.
