Why can I not find Voice over IP carriers in Iowa? Does Vonage have a monopoly in Iowa?

I have searched a TON of sites offering very affordable voice over IP (VOIP) service, however, all of them seem to offer service in in the ENTIRE USA except Iowa. What gives? Why won’t these companies touch Iowa? The only people offering VOIP in Iowa seems to be Qwest, MediaCom, and Vonage. Is there some monopoly they have here or what? I can get service from just about anybody in Nowheresville, Montanna or BuFu Wyoming but not in IA and its making me mad. If you can explain this unusual absence of service provision I would appreciate it. Thanks!

At first, not even Vonage was not in Iowa and a few other states. But there are a few others. (I have Vonage, and I am OK with them)

    Check this comparison chart.
